| chilitechno | Hi Rick, I passed my road test here in New York City two weeks ago on my first try, after taking about 30 hours of supervised driving instruction (starting in early June). The exam itself only lasted about 10 minutes. Your videos have been a great source of information, but I have to say experience is the only way one gets the confidence to pass I think... even though I passed I'm still taking a few more hours of driving to get some more supervised experience for highway + night driving... fun fact: Manhattan is the only borough that does not have a DMV road test site (probably because of those !?!? double parked cars all over the place). | bricks for wheels | Hi Rick, wanted to let you know that I passed my Road Test today! :) Went smoothly with only 4 minor errors (max 10 minor errors on test here in Winnipeg) which could be summed as me being a bit too timid in some places. As I said in my first comment to you, it was your videos, the handbook, and driving as much as possible that made me confident that I would be able to pass it before October. Sure enough, I got it passed. I did also hire a driving instructor (as you suggested in some of your videos, including this one) which helped me iron out any existing rough edges, which in my case was: (1) parallel parking between posts (using basically this method, more or less https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39wNzDlW9Kg), as to me posts feel different to real cars as it wasn't easy to see the "middle" of the posts, as well posts kinda appear closer apart than they really are. For real cars and now on, if I find myself parallel parking I'll be using your method as I prefer taking into account the variables of one car (it's width and how far they are from curb) as opposed to two cars. (2) Something that I think would be a good topic for a video "How to Deal with Parked Cars | Road Test Smart" for parked cars in tight and wide streets. As I was saying before, thank you so much,. I'm going to go through your course, and I'm going to keep watching as there's more to learn & always something more for me to learn. Thanks again Rick! | |

| JessEmily16 | I learned to drive later than most (at 27) because of crippling driving anxiety I have. I struggled to even drive around an empty parking lot. Not many people talk about this because, for most, driving has become an everyday thing and they don't understand but there are those of us that still struggle. I just wanted to let fellow anxiety sufferers who may be watching this video know that it is possible. I had trouble even sitting in the parked car and today I passed my test on the first try. I was anxious about it but i did it and you can too. So I wanted to come back to this video and say thank you Rick for making such a comprehensive and encouraging video and addressing something that most people don't.
